Standardized state tests are given to measure how well students have learned content based on the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Results for these tests are used to determine where students may need additional or accelerated learning opportunities, as well as for school and district accountability. This year, third through fifth graders will participate in Georgia Milestones testing, which replaces the CRCT.

Resources
Our teachers are working hard to make sure our students are prepared for the Milestones Assessments. In pursuit of continuing our partnership with you to best educate your children, we wanted to share some of the resources that we are using here at school.
- Write Score Sample Items (3rd Grade): A third grade sample of an English Language Arts assessment. http://media.writescore.com/MktLinks/3sillystridesbookletga.pdf
- Engage NY: Just Released Test items: Sample Georgia Milestones-like assessment questions https://www.engageny.org/resource/new-york-state-common-core-sample-questions
- NAEP Questions Tools: This resource link provides examples of nationally normed assessment items. Selected response, short constructed response and extended response type questions for specific content areas are available. http://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/itmrlsx/landing.aspx
- Student online Georgia Milestones Practice Link: The link below will allow students to practice the online Georgia Milestones testing tools. Since 4th graders will be taking the test online, this is a great orientation to familiarize students with online testing. All you need to do to access a test is to click on the login button. http://learnoas.ctb.com/GA/
Use these sites as a resource if you believe that your child(ren) would benefit from extra practice. By working together, we can make your child(ren)'s experience both positive and successful.
