BOOK YOUR PROGRAMS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Since funds and program availability are limited, we process requests on a first-come, first-served basis. Each school is allowed one program per grade level during our open booking period through Friday, Sept. 25th. Once this period has ended, multiple programs can be requested and will be confirmed based on available funds and programming dates. Please note that program dates and availability are subject to change. The 2015-16 Scheduling Form is attached and you can also find it on the portal.
2015-16 BUSES: This year the Teaching Museum has funding to support the fieldtrip expense of elementary schools. All FCS elementary schools will receive two FREE buses. Title I (school wide) elementary schools will each receive an additional four FREE buses for a total of six. To avoid scheduling confusion within schools, one school-designated staff will determine which grade level(s) are allotted these buses. In most cases, this designated staff will be the school’s CST.
Teaching Museum on the MOVE… A new initiative this year is “Teaching Museum on the Move” – a traveling trunk program facilitated by the Teaching Museum in partnership with local content “experts” (i.e. museums, cultural institutions, nature centers) that sends authentic objects/materials to your school with lessons and content information. Our first partnership is with the Chattahoochee Nature Center on a Rocks and Minerals trunk for 3rd grade. Additionally, we are sending out a trunk with student supplies related to the FIG Newton (Physics and Juggling) program for 4th. We are looking for more ideas for these traveling trunks and how best to serve schools. Please let us know your suggestions and share your connections to local expertise!

App Smashing
Create a fact web in Popplet Lite , import the Popplet into Educreations, add voice to the project using Educreations, and, once saved in Educreations, classmates could check out each other’s work. Example below. This app smash can be used for a variety of projects or as a way to demonstrate understanding of a standard.
Mary smashed Tellagami (animated avatar of Mary) and Pic Collage (captured background photo) to create this: https://tellagami.com/gami/CX4746/
Here is my app smash. I used Pic Collage (picture of my Chihuahua, Pixie) and Chatterkid (easy, draw a line to create a mouth animation) to get this cheesy creation:
